About Us:

Sizathina Secondary School was built in the year 2000 by Inkosi R.P Bele and the community members. It is situated at KwaQiko area. The school was built because there was no high school in the area. The nearest high school was affected by faction fights abs leaners dropped out of school. KwaQiko is a deep rural area where very few people have electricity and other forms of basic infrastructure such as water and sanitation. Our learners travel approximately 6 km to get to the school on daily basis. Sizathina is a no fee, Section 21 school, without function C. all the leaners are fed through the National Nutrition Programme. They also benefit from the OVC Programme.

The KwaQiko community mainly depends on social grands and old age pensions. Most of the leaners are orphans; some are coming from child headed households. Approximately 234 leaners receive social grants and there are some who do not receive social grants yet, due to being in a process of getting the relevant identity documents.

Our Mission: Sizathina Secondary is committed to fulfilling the educational needs and aspiration of KwaQiko community by instilling respect for all religions and beliefs. We will provide a learning environment aimed at developing the whole child to enable to become successful and well-balanced members of society. We are committed to honesty, transparency, and responsibility in all relationships, and will provide an attitude of tolerance, thus respecting the legitimate rights of individual and stressing the importance of social awareness and responsibility. As a dynamic school we will adopt a philosophy of continuous improvement in every aspect of the school’s work and life
